Kovacova is EVP international sales and acquisitions, overseeing CEE, Turkey, Greece, Asia, Middle East, and Africa at Munich-based Beta Film, one of the Europe’s leading international sales and financing companies in film and television. Since 2012, she has been working in several roles at Beta after starting her career of their Bratislava-based subsidiary Eurokim in 2006. Among others, Kovacova has been responsible for the acquisition of the high-end crime series The Pleasure Principle, the first international television co-production between Central and Eastern European countries on such a great scale, directed by multi-awarded Dariusz Jablonski and sold to, among others, ZDF for ARTE, as well as Persona, a Turkish crime thriller series produced by Ay Yapim for Puhu TV, starring Haluk Bilginer, who received the international Emmy Award for his performance in the series. Her latest projects include The Silence, a series based on the critically acclaimed books that uncovered human and weapons trafficking throughout Eastern Europe produced by Drugi plan and HRT in coproduction with Beta Film, Star Media, OLL.TV and ZDF/ARTE, and the Ukrainian series In Her Car, produced by Starlight Media and Gaumont in co-production with France Télévisions and ZDF, which will premiere in 2024. The Bosnian series I Know Your Soul by European Film Award winner Jasmila Žbanić premiered at the International Film Festival in Venice in 2023 while the Serbian series Operation Sabre won the Special Interpretation Award at Canneseries 2024.
